Geosphere is pleased to announce membership in the Green Sports Alliance, a consortium of stakeholders in amateur, college and professional sports with the mission to leverage the power of sports to achieve meaningful impact.
The Alliance is focused on seven key program initiatives: energy, food, procurement, transportation, venues, waste, and water.
Stadiums and sports venues provide prime opportunities to engage fans and athletes in implementing closed loop systems such as composting, reusable programs and recycling. For food adjacent cups, utensils and containers, 100% compostable packaging presents an opportunity for facilities managers and waste management to collaborate in ensuring 100% of compostable material ends up in the organics recycling or composting stream. Resulting compost can be then sold back to properties as landfill reinforcements and planting support.
